Q: How long will it take my carpet to dry?
In our climate and depending on weather, typical drying time is 6 to 8 hours. You can also reduce the dry time by turning on your furnace fan, opening windows and/or turning on portable fans. You should leave any ‘blocks’ or ‘tabs’ under your furniture legs in place for at least 24 hours to keep rust and/or furniture stains from forming.
Q: When can I walk on my carpets after they are cleaned?
We recommend you wait until they are completely dry. If you must walk on damp carpet, please wear plastic booties and be cautious when crossing onto hard surfaces with damp feet to avoid a slip hazard.
Q: Why did spots reappear after having my carpets cleaned?
While most spots are removed and do not reappear after cleaning, there are occasions when deeply embedded stains that have made it through to the padding or backing can reappear due to wicking. If a spot reappears you should call the cleaning company to come back and take care of it.
Q: How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
Most carpet manufacturers suggest that you have your carpets cleaned at least every 12 to 18 months. The longer you leave soil build-up, the shorter the life of the carpet. Soil particles are abrasive and can damage the fibers over time if not professionally removed. If you have allergies or if your family generates a lot of foot traffic and spots you need to more often to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
Q: How should I prepare my home to have its carpets cleaned?
Move any light furniture (coffee tables, chairs etc.) off the carpet and make sure any toys, clothing, small area rugs, or other items are also lifter from the floor. Then vacuum either the day before or the day of the service.
Q: Will the technician try and sell me extra services or products?
Maintaining your investment is our highest priority. Per manufacturer recommendations, our technician may recommend that you have a protector applied. However, the price won’t change from the quote unless you decide to add additional services. Technicians may also offer odor control or stain remediation. All recommendations are solely at your discretion.
Q: How do fiber protectors/stain guard work?
When professionally applied, fiber protectors surround each carpet fiber with an invisible shield. This gives you extra time to clean a spill before they are absorbed into the fiber. High traffic areas and areas where pets like to lay should be considered a priority for applying carpet protector.
