Carpet Cleaning FAQs

Q: How long will it take my carpet to dry?

In our climate and depending on weather, typical drying time is 6 to 8 hours. You can also reduce the dry time by turning on your furnace fan, opening windows and/or turning on portable fans. You should leave any ‘blocks’ or ‘tabs’ under your furniture legs in place for at least 24 hours to keep rust and/or furniture stains from forming.

Q: When can I walk on my carpets after they are cleaned?

We recommend you wait until they are completely dry. If you must walk on damp carpet, please wear plastic booties and be cautious when crossing onto hard surfaces with damp feet to avoid a slip hazard.

Q: Why did spots reappear after having my carpets cleaned?

While most spots are removed and do not reappear after cleaning, there are occasions when deeply embedded stains that have made it through to the padding or backing can reappear due to wicking. If a spot reappears you should call the cleaning company to come back and take care of it.

Q: How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

Most carpet manufacturers suggest that you have your carpets cleaned at least every 12 to 18 months. The longer you leave soil build-up, the shorter the life of the carpet. Soil particles are abrasive and can damage the fibers over time if not professionally removed. If you have allergies or if your family generates a lot of foot traffic and spots you need to more often to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.

Q: How should I prepare my home to have its carpets cleaned?

Move any light furniture (coffee tables, chairs etc.) off the carpet and make sure any toys, clothing, small area rugs, or other items are also lifter from the floor. Then vacuum either the day before or the day of the service.

Q: Will the technician try and sell me extra services or products?

Maintaining your investment is our highest priority. Per manufacturer recommendations, our technician may recommend that you have a protector applied. However, the price won’t change from the quote unless you decide to add additional services. Technicians may also offer odor control or stain remediation.  All recommendations are solely at your discretion.

Q: How do fiber protectors/stain guard work?

When professionally applied, fiber protectors surround each carpet fiber with an invisible shield. This gives you extra time to clean a spill before they are absorbed into the fiber. High traffic areas and areas where pets like to lay should be considered a priority for applying carpet protector.

Q. How to get pet urine out of Carpet

When it comes to lifting urine spot out of carpet, it’s important to act fast so it doesn’t permanently set into a stain. Cleaning stains from carpet can be especially tricky since urine begins as a strong acid but crystallizes and becomes alkaline over time. Using our tips can make the cleanup much easier. Try out these methods for removing urine from your carpet.

  1. Only use Clean white towels- We recommend always using white towels for cleaning so there’s no color transfer when blotting.
  2. Use a Clean, Empty Spray Bottle – For safe practice, always make sure spray bottles are clean and clear of any other residue before using.
  3. Create Cleaning Solution & Blot – Mix a solution using 2 cups of cold water and 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap in an empty spray bottle. Spray the area with the solution. Then, allow it to sit for 1-2 minutes. Blot with a white towel. Repeat blotting as needed.
  4. Rinse with Cold Water- Next, you’ll want to flush the area with clean cold water and blot with as much pressure as you can until it is dry.
  5. Flush with White Vinegar & Blot- Finally, flush the area once more, but this time with white vinegar. Blot up as much of the vinegar as you can. Be sure to let the area dry completely before walking on it.  (White vinegar breaks down the uric acid in urine to help remove the spot and odor.)
Furnace and duct cleaning faqs

Q: What are some of the benefits of having my duct work professionally cleaned?

Having the air ducts cleaned can significantly improve the health of the air in your home or office. Once the ducts are clean of debris, you should notice:

  • Increased air flow
  • Even temperatures from room to room
  • Lower utility bills
  • Improved indoor air quality
  • Reduced allergy triggers
  • Reduced frequency of dust accumulation

Q: Are there any health benefits that come from cleaning my ductwork?

Yes, professionally cleaned and deodorized ductwork can reduce mold, fungi, pollen, bacteria, and dust particles. These contaminants are known to trigger allergies, asthma and other health problems. By reducing the contaminants in the ductwork, you are allowing the air that circulates throughout your home to be cleaner, and therefore healthier.

Q: How often should I have my ductwork cleaned?

NADCA, the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, recommends you have your air ducts cleaned every three to five years. Home Owners may want to consider more frequent cleanings under these listed circumstances:

  • Residents with allergies or asthma
  • Smokers in the household
  • Pet dander and hair
  • Water/ smoke contamination to the home
  • After home renovations or remodeling
  • Prior to the occupancy of a newly constructed home (construction debris)
  • Purchasing an previously lived in home
  • New community with ongoing construction in the neighborhood

Q: Will you get a lot of dust in my house during the air duct cleaning process?

No, our high-powered vacuum trucks create a negative air pressure throughout the system, removing all dust and debris directly outside to the truck.

Q: Will it reduce odors in my home?

Contaminants, bacteria and fungus can build up inside of the ductwork and produce foul odors. While some homeowners will not notice the odors, because they are immune to them, visitors will recognize them right away.

Q: How long will the cleaning process take?

The process varies depending on home size and number of furnaces. An average single furnace home will generally take about 1.5 – 2 hours to complete.
